Anne L. Sherwood, PhD is currently the Technical Director for The Binding Site. She received her B.A. in Biology from Kenyon College, a M.S. in Microbiology from the University of Arkansas and a Ph.D. in Virology and Molecular Biology from Purdue University. Dr. Sherwood’s Post-Doctoral Research was conducted at the University of Washington, Dept of Biochemistry. Dr. Sherwood has published and lectured extensively. She has one patent and two others pending.
Sky Blue, MD graduated in 1989 from the University Of Iowa College Of Medicine. His residency was at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and is an HIV specialist. Dr. Blue was honored by the AMA with the Physician Recognition Award in 2001 and 2004. He currently is in private practice in Infectious Diseases and serves as a Consultant for both Clinical Inpatients and Ambulatory Clinics. Dr. Blue has presented nationally and has authored numerous publications.
Dave Osborn, MT(ASCP) has been the Senior Cytometry Account Manager for Beckman Coulter for the past nine years. Prior to this he was the Technical Supervisor at Deaconess Medical Center Hematopathology Department from 1997-2000. Dave is an MT (ASCP).
David Eisentrager MT (ASCP) has been in the Clinical Laboratory Science field for 36 years. He spent 17 years at St. Alphonsus Hospital Lab working as a bench tech generalist and four of those years as manager of the lab. He also trained as a Nuclear Medicine tech and managed the Nuclear Medicine section for a short period of time. In 1990 he accepted the field inspector position at the Bureau of Laboratories and traveled the state for two years performing inspections for the Laboratory Improvement Section. In 1993 he took over the manager role for the LIS which added the X-ray certification section that year. He has served as director of the State of Idaho Proficiency Testing program and is the State training coordinator for the National Laboratory Training Network and the Association of Public Health Labs. Affiliate Faculty at ISU lecturing to the CLS students and a few other chores fills out his professional life. “ I do like fishin” and hopefully someday will have more time to do that!
Monet N. Sayegh, M.D., M.S., B.S., M.T. (ASCP) S.H., C.L.S. is a Medical Consultant with a focus on Allergy, Immunology, Endocrinology, cardiology, Oncology, and Infectious disease for Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics in the State Disease Strategic Planning Department. Dr. Sayegh received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Mobile in Mobile, AL, Medical Technology from Anderson Memorial Hospital School of Medical Technology in Anderson, SC, Master of Science in Health Sciences with emphasis on Hematology/Oncology from the American University School of Graduate Studies in Coral Gables, FL and awarded Doctor of Medicine Degree from the American University School of Medicine in Coral Gables, FL. His Post- graduate training is in General Surgery with emphasis on Emergency Non-Trauma Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Sayegh has over 20 years experience in the filed of Medicine, Research, Surgery, and Clinical Laboratory Science.
Linda McGowan is the Field Application Specialist for Iris Diagnostics. She started her career as a generalist in a medical laboratory and later moved on to become the laboratory supervisor for the largest independent reproductive and infertility facility in Minnesota. She then spent seen years as a technical representative for a major immunoassay company validating instruments and training customers before taking her position with Iris.
James Peterson, Ph.D. received his Ph. D. from Louisiana State University Medical Center Department of Pathology in 1983. He is the Director of Quality Assurance and Customer Service for Quest Diagnostics. From 1984-1993, he was the Technical consultant for Smith Kline Beecham Clinical Laboratories. He is a member of the Washington State Department of Health- Clinical Laboratory Advisory Council and their Hepatitis C Task Force.
Tressa Nicholas received a degree in biochemistry, is currently working at DEQ, while completing a master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Jeff Fromm, Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, works with the environmental risk assessment of chemicals and radionuclides at hazardous waste sites, including DOE, DOD, and mining sites for 16 years. He provides technical support in toxicology to DEQ programs and regional offices. Current interests include developing methodology for microbial pathogen risk assessment for water reuse.
Brian Carrier graduated from University of Utah with a BS in Psychology and has been working on an MBA as time allows. After school he began a career in Medical/laboratory sales. He has worked with notable companies such as Boehringer Mannheim, Roche Diagnostics, Diagnostic Products Corporation (DPC) and Fisher Scientific. He has been involved with new product development, market research, sales training, management training, new hire training and Six Sigma training. In addition, he has sold and in serviced a wide variety of laboratory instruments and products including coagulation, hematology, chemistry, immunoassay, and immunology.
Theresa M. Joseph is the Cardiac Clinical Specialist for Roche Diagnostics Corporation. Among her responsibilities are education of doctors, CLS, and RNs about Cardiac Biomarkers. Theresa also has experience in management and sales. Theresa was the Staff and Charge Nurse in ICU and CCU at the Medical Center of Aurora, Colorado. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado.
Susan Morris, CLS (NCA), MT (ASCP), MS is the Patient Safety Officer at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center. Susan has a Masters Degree in Public Health and a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Cal State University Long Beach. Susan is serving as NCA President and has served as the President of ASCLS. Susan has been very active at all levels in ASCLS. Recently, Susan has been recognized for her efforts in establishing the “900 Women Program”. This program increases breast cancer awareness and has helped increase the number of women being screened.
Annie Strupp, M.D. is Chief Medical Officer at the Lewis and Clark Region of the American Red Cross. As a pathologist, Dr. Strupp has specialized in medical issues related to blood banking for more than twenty years. Along with her hospital appointments, she has served as medical director both at hospital blood bans and independent blood centers. When she joined the American Red Cross Lewis and Clark Region as medical director, she became responsible for all medical issues related to blood donations, clinic and therapeutic blood services, and emergency release of blood products in Utah, Idaho and Montana
Jeri Walters received her BS in Medical Technology from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She is as a Registered Hematologist through ASCP and is an NCA Clinical Laboratory Specialist. Jeri is presently Supervisor of Esoteric Testing at Aurora Consolidated Laboratories in West Allis, Wisconsin. She has authored many publications and has produced numerous educational videos. Jeri has lectured extensively on Hematology and Coagulation with titles such as: “Solving with Histograms”, “The Anemias”, “Red Cell Measurements- Real or Imagined” and “Fearless Fluids”.
Ramani Wonderling, PhD received her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University Of South Carolina School Of Medicine. She engaged in a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Heath in Bethesda, MD and worked on molecular biology of AAV of its utility as a gene therapy vector. She worked on cytokine discovery, diagnostics, DNA vaccines and cytokine therapeutics at Heska Corporation in Fort Collins, CO before joining Abbott. During her nine-year tenure at Abbott Diagnostics she has been part of diagnostic R&D and developed reagents for the diagnosis of Hepatitis, HIV, Toxoplasmosis and Chagas disease. She joined Scientific Affairs in 2006 and functions as scientific liaison between Abbott Diagnostics and the customers. Dr. Wonderling has seven patents on cytokine discovery and one on DNA vaccine methodology. She has also twelve publications in peer-reviewed journals.
George Rodgers, III, MD, Ph.D. is a physician at Primary Children’s Medical Center and a specialty consultant in hematology for the University of Utah. He has lectured extensively on a wide range of coagulations topics and has authored many publications.
Raymond Tarr, Ph.D was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After one year of college, he enlisted and spent 8 years with the US Army Rangers serving as a combat medic in Desert Storm and Bosnia. He earned a Bachelors of Science from the University of Colorado in Chemistry, a Masters of Science in Physical Chemistry from the University of Utah and a Ph.D. in International Business from Alameda College. He currently lives in Denver Colorado with his wife and three boys.
Dawn Robertson, MT(ASCP)SH. My career has been in the clinical laboratory until my recent career change to join the Beckman Coulter team. I have been a Hematology tech, Hematology Supervisor, Laboratory Supervisor and most recently a Laboratory Manager. I went to school at the University of Nebraska, where studying and attending football games, of course, were the top priorities (Go Big Red!) The majority of my career has been in Colorado where I have been involved in supporting Clinical Lab Science in a number of capacities over the years. I pursued my Specialist in Hematology because I have always loved learning, teaching and simply enjoying the fascinating aspects of Hematology and medicine in general.
